Joyce Wrice is an R&B/Soul singer that is based in L.A. She began singing at a young age after falling in love with the voice of Canadian singer-songwriter, Tamia. Along with Tamia, her musical influences include Aaliyah, Brandy and Mariah Carey.
The influence of singers from the 90s era is evident in Joyce's music from her irresistible feel good vibe alone. Her effortless vocals are delicate and silky, but carry a tone where there's no denying that she has soul. Although many have compared her to Aaliyah, Joyce proves with her music that she is in her own lane with her own authentic sound.
The 26-year-old released her debut EP, Stay Around, in 2016. For her debut project, she was able to work with TDE's SiR, who co-wrote and executive produced. She also worked with producer Mndsgn. The 6 track EP was Joyce's first step into finding her own voice as an artist after initially gaining recognition from her covers.
Joyce toured cities in Europe in the closing months of 2017 and will be having an Australia/New Zealand tour beginning on January 25. Before 2017 came to a close, she stopped by COLORS Studio to perform her latest single produced by Jamma-Dee, "Good Morning". COLORS is where hidden gems of the music industry showcase their talent. Her studio performance may be the smoothest that I've seen on their channel.
"Good Morning" has become a fan favorite of hers and many remixes have been made of the track including the popular remix by producer J.Robb. Sidenote: It would be dope if there could be a Kaytranada edition.
A longer project is what the promising artist is working for the future. I'm excited to see what she has in store for her fans in 2018. Hopefully we'll be able to hear the project later this year!
